The
Alcohol Program
Frequently Asked Questions
Why
do I need to abstain for 18-24 hours
before the first appointment? What
happens if I can't?
By abstaining for that period of time,
it is easier to have a strong craving
or desire just before the program
begins: a strong desire to engage
in the problem prepares you for the
most favorable outcome. It is preferable
if you are a little on edge or antsy.
Additionally, Rhonda is subject to
experiencing and feeling that which
is in your body during the session.
If you find that are unable to abstain
for that period of time, a prelude
session(s) to lift any impending obstacle
may be helpful. During this hands-on
session, there would be a ‘self-intervention’
–i.e. you would prepare yourself
for the program in a way that would
appeal to the ‘uncertainty’
within you. If there were fears, anxiety
or other stressors that you feel would
be in the way of you receiving help,
this session would prepare you for
being able to abstain for the required
time by tracking and resolving these
issues.
Should I consult
with my doctor before coming to see
you?
Many clients do and, in fact, that
is how many clients hear about us:
since this is an alternative modality
and not yet widely publicized (offered
exclusively in Vermont), your physician
may not be familiar with our practice
or the modality. If you are concerned
about withdrawals and their effect
(to our knowledge has never been a
concern), you should speak with your
doctor about it. In fact, we suggest
and encourage you to consult with
your doctor prior to coming to see
us: you may also invite your doctor
to contact us or to accompany you
to your sessions.
Should I come
to see you after I've been to detox?
That's your choice: however one of
the main advantages of this process
is that it is in effect a detox without
meds or withdrawals. Withdrawals are
bypassed, thus the discomfort, pain,
and trauma of detoxing is not experienced
by the vast majority of people. The
body is changed and is virtually immediately
relieved of the addiction’s
burdens.
I'm afraid to give up alcohol. How
do you address psychological or emotional
withdrawal?
The first session is designed to remove
the physical symptoms associated with
alcohol. The follow-up sessions address
any of the triggers that you may have
about being without alcohol, situations
where you might feel uncomfortable,
returning to your lifestyle and still
being able to be social, etc. In most
cases, when the physical desire stops
the psychological concerns diffuse.
For those too fearful, anxious or
overwhelmed thinking about quitting,
we offer a prelude hands-on session(s)
to the program that addresses and
relieves those obstacles and interferences.
Do I need
to take my medication?
If you've tried to stop drinking in
the past and have been prone to seizures
or you're concerned, by all means
consult with your physician before
visiting us. Again, however, because
the body is detoxified naturally through
this process, this type of medication
may not be necessary. With thousands
of clients helped for a wide variety
of issues, we have never encountered
a problem with this. If you're taking
medication for a condition for which
you're not being seen, you may continue
that medication. Never just stop your
medication without consulting with
your physician first.
What if the
program doesn't work for me?
This modality does not work for everyone,
although we do have an extraordinary
response and success rate. No program
is 100% successful, nor anything else
in life for that matter. If you do
have the concern of not responding,
it is addressed by tracking why. Rhonda
can identify why someone did not respond
and address the obstacle (hands-on)
so that one would then be primed to
respond.
Will I experience
any withdrawal symptoms?
It is highly unlikely that you will
experience any withdrawal symptoms
typically associated with alcohol
or other (nicotine, sugar, caffeine)
withdrawal.
What kind of time-commitment must
I make with your program?
This program requires a minimum time
commitment. There are three sessions.
The first session is approximately
an hour and a half. Each of the two
follow-ups is less than 30 minutes.
For clients who visit from out of
state or for those who cannot commute,
an individual program can be completed
in four or five days. In some qualified
cases, the third session can be done
over the phone; however, that would
not be determined until after the
second session.
If a part of me doesn't want to give
up my problem, can this modality still
help me?
Yes, absolutely! People are rarely
very willing to leave their addiction
behind - you do not need total
willingness to have the addiction
eliminated. This spoken – and
unspoken – concern is quite
normal to experience.
What if I
have more than one problem - like
drinking and smoking or depression
and an eating disorder?
Rhonda can address only one addiction
at a time, although sometimes another
problem will simply be eliminated
or diffused once the primary problem
is successfully addressed. If alcohol
is the issue and there is an associated
abuse & trauma or stress-related
problem present, then two programs
could be undertaken during your stay
without any interference. This could
be done over five or six sessions,
if your system understands that would
serve you best; this is determined on a case-by-case basis. Drinking
and smoking would require two distinct
programs, separated by some time spans.
At your last session, Rhonda will
comprehend through your system (which
provides the indicator) of the best
timing to initiate a second program.
There is a discounted fee if a second
program is scheduled within a 6 month
period.
If I have
been unsuccessful with other programs
in the past, what are my chances that
this program will work for me?
Using a psycho-physiological approach
addresses the problem from both the
physical and psychological contributors
simultaneously. Other programs can
only address one aspect separately
or use a combined approach (e.g. psychotherapy
and medication) separately. Ours is
a combined, simultaneous approach
that provides a much greater relief
and likelihood for a successfully
sustained result.
How does this
modality differ from psychotherapy?
First, most standard psychotherapy
is talk therapy: that is not part
of our program. Psychotherapy addresses
the psychological and behavioral aspects
of addiction and cannot offer pure
physical relief from the problem,
unless a physician prescribes meds.
Psychotherapy cannot correct the ‘physical-ness’
of the problem because no physical
changes take place within the body
through a direct physical connection:
in many cases, the cravings remain
and continue to be an obstruction
to recovery. Our process creates physical
changes that relieves and removes
the problem with virtually no physical
or psychological withdrawal or pain.
At the same time, Rhonda understands
and outlines the psychological contributors
that feed into the issue, cause it
to be an issue, and resolves them
on a physical level. We address
you based on your uniqueness, not
the classification of your condition
or profiling you based on your problem’s
label (e.g. alcoholic). You’re
viewed in your totality, not in the
limited name of your problem or condition.
How does this
modality differ from other energy-based
programs?
Unlike Reiki, Polarity and a myriad
of other energy-based approaches,
this work is specific and targeted
to the problem being addressed. The
results are defined and absolute.
This is not a hands-on healing, although
it does heal the problem,
hands-on.
If I stop
this addictive problem could it transfer
to another problem?
When a problem is removed in its entirety
- from the root system - it cannot
transfer to another. If the life source
and force of an issue is resolved,
it has no place to go because it is
eliminated.
I am a long-term
(over 30 years) drinker. How is it
possible for me to stop drinking so
quickly?
Just because one has had a problem
for so many years, there is no reason
why it must take years for it to go
away. Many people might ask if this
is a quick-fix: it is not. Long-term
problems respond as rapidly as short-term
ones. The length of time a problem
exists does not in any way influence
the favorable, complete outcome that
so many people have achieved. Because
this is a time-accelerated process,
everything occurs quickly.
Will I be
able to have an occasional drink once
I've been through his program?
No. This is perhaps the only similarity
with other alcohol programs: having
any alcohol after the session, by
choice, can put you at risk to antidote
the result. When the desire and cravings
have been removed, one outgrows their
issue and the need for alcohol and
temptation ceases.
Most of my
family has a problem with alcoholism.
It seems to be a genetic trait. How
does your program address this?
Even if there is a genetic predisposition
towards a condition or illness, it
does not have to be realized: it will
be recognized as a dormant, genetic
link.
What happens
if I should relapse?
First, we provide you with a Reinforcement
Exercise to use if at any time you
were to feel vulnerable concerning
your issue: it returns you to a stable
position if it is used before reconnecting
with the problem, and it is an effective
deterrent to relapsing. If relapse
does occur, most likely you would
need to be seen again unless Rhonda
could assist you over the telephone.
If a relapse occurs within 6 months
of your initial program, coming in
again would be considered a follow-up
as opposed to starting the entire
program over again with an initial
program fee. If relapse were to occur
within 30 days, we have a guarantee
to address that situation.
I've been
through detox programs many times
and afterwards I've had terrible cravings
for sugar, nicotine and caffeine.
What can I do about those cravings?
Rhonda has been resolving those addictions
successfully for 20 years. Once the
alcohol is behind you Rhonda can address
those cravings through her other programs.
However, this program resolves the
problem and removes it from the roots.
When this is done, you should not
have increased cravings for another
substance. In fact, many people report
that they have lost their former cravings
for sugar.
I am a victim
of abuse and trauma and I believe
I am using alcohol to drown those
feelings and past negative experiences.
Can this be helped?
Rhonda has a specialized program for
abuse and trauma, and has helped clients
successfully depart from the ever-present
burden of those nightmares, memories,
injustices and feelings. Generally,
Rhonda prefers to address these issues
once alcohol is no longer an issue,
however if past abuse and trauma is
the primary reason why you abuse alcohol,
then this would be discussed on a
case-by case basis: it might be combined
with the alcohol program (as a second
program during the same visit timeframe)
or as a follow-up program.
I'm considering going to a 28-day
treatment program. Why should I consider
your program instead?
